About the school
Garcia, which opened in 2008, serves approximately 649 students from ninth through twelfth grade. Garcia received a commendable ISBE summative designation in 2024 as well as a well organized from the CPS 5 Essentials survey. The school focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning, with multimedia, architecture, art and engineering studios on campus. Garcia prides itself on a robust curriculum, featuring various AP courses, dual enrollment math, and four-years of Mandarin and Spanish instruction. It also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including multiple athletic teams, National Honor Society, Chess Team, Makerspace Club, Art Club, Pride Club, Student Council, and more. Acero Schools provide a strong academic foundation for high school students to help them master the fundamental skills necessary for success in high school and beyond.
