TILDEN HS
About the school
Tilden high school is a school on the rise that's currently home to approximately 250 students. As a neighborhood high school, students do not have to meet criteria for acceptance other than residing in Tilden's attendance area. This means, students do not have to take any assessments or participate in any school lottery for admittance. Over the past few years, Tilden has focused on its high school graduation rate and increase of ECCC opportunities for students. In SY24, the 4 year graduation rate increased by 5.5%, the 5 year graduation rate increased by 7.3%, and ECCC increased by 14.8%. Additionally, the college enrollment rate increased by 2.5%. A unique aspect of Tilden high school is the 4x4 Block Schedule: Tilden students take 4 classes per semester and earn 1 full credit at the end of the semester. This college-like structure allows students to earn 8 credits per year instead of 7 at other schools. Additionally, students have more room in their schedule to take AP courses, Dual Credit Courses, or participate in work-study programs.
